Here at Southern Drum School, we love watching all our students develop and seeing them progress. This page highlights some of our pupil’s achievements with our all our students working towards their individual goals – whether that be learning one of their favourite songs or passing their graded exams.
Harry has been with us for a fair few years now and is only in year 5 currently and already working towards his grade 4 exam. Even from this short video, you can see clearly that he has technical and improvisation skills above his age. The months of hard work and practicing rudiments show in this short and technical piece!
Calumn is one of our longest and more senior pupils here at Southern Drum School and has recently been working hard in preparation for his grade 4 exams. This piece really showcases how much his feel, improvisation, reading and overall technical ability has shot up in recent weeks and we are impressed with how well he has adapted to online lessons. Ready for a band!
Will has impressed us with his diligence and focus towards his first grade and he can now play his pieces with so much confidence and control that he doesn’t need to read them anymore. That memory and commitment to learning repertoire at such a young age is a very valuable life skill for musicians.
